Delete your MasjidMapper account
You can have your account and the personal information attached to it deleted at any time. You do not need to give a reason.
Delete it in the app
- Open MasjidMapper and go to Settings (the gear on the Prayer tab).
- Under Privacy and data, tap Your data, then Delete my account.
- Type your email address to confirm. The account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on every device.
Or ask us by email
If you no longer have the app installed:
- Email info@masjidmapper.com with the subject Delete my account.
- Send it from the Google account email address you sign in with. That is how we verify the request is yours; we will not delete an account on a request from a different address.
- We reply to confirm, then delete the account. This is completed within 30 days of your request, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
- Your account: Google account identifier, email, display name, profile photo URL, language and notification settings.
- The masjids you follow and your home masjid.
- Push-notification tokens for your devices.
- Claims you submitted and the proof attached to them.
What is kept, and why
- Suggestions and corrections you made about masjid details, and photos you uploaded of a masjid, are kept but detached from your account, so they can no longer be linked to you. A correction other people rely on should not vanish because one contributor left.
- If you were an administrator of a masjid, the details you verified belong to the masjid and stay with it. Announcements you posted remain attributed to the masjid.
- Problem reports you sent keep what you wrote, detached from your account. Their reply email and screenshot are removed.
- Server logs that may contain your IP address expire on their own within 30 days. Crash and analytics data held by Firebase is not linked to your account and expires within 14 months.
Before you delete
If you want a copy of your data first, use Export my data on the same screen in the app, or ask for an export in the same email. Deletion cannot be undone; signing in again afterwards creates a new, empty account.
